Maintenance contracts case study Sodexo

Overview

Sodexo is the worldwide leader in Quality of Life services. For over 50 years, they have developed unique expertise, backed by nearly 427,000 employees in 80 countries across the globe.

In 2012 IMS were appointed by Sodexo as the production maintenance provider in support of Sodexo’s facilities management contract with BAE Systems. IMS works are covered by an annually reviewed contract which includes reactive and planned maintenance for the BAE Systems production assets at four UK sites.

Scope of works

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to all production machinery
  • Reactive maintenance to all production assets
  • Procurement of spare parts and consumables

How we do it

IMS have appointed a dedicated SC cleared static service engineer based on the each site. Our service engineers can call on support from our mobile team of service engineers if required.

IMS service engineers are directed by our designated Contract Manager and the Sodexo Site Facilities Manager, using the Sodexo CMMS. The schedule and frequency of works inputted into the CMMS are determined by IMS liaising with the Sodexo Site Facilities Manager.

The benefits we have achieved

All of the machines are annually serviced and reports issued to the client. Our Technical Delivery Manager is then able to support any recommended remedial actions.

Through the proactive approach of IMS towards value engineering and quality our client is benefitting from a combination of reduced cost and increased compliance, aiding some sites to pass their ISO accreditation.
